Where are you from?
This is a question that is normally asked, when you meet someone new, and for many people it is an easy answer, they name their hometown. But there are many of us, who find this question to be very complicated. In fact there should be multiple choice answers for this one.
The truth is I am from many places. I was born in Zambia to a Nigerian father and a Sierra Leonean Mother. I spent my childhood in Nigeria and my teenage years in both Zambia and the United States, and then moved to Kenya and lived there for six years before returning back to Nigeria.
And upon my returning back home, I discovered I had to relearn everything, and it was just as if I had moved to a new country, because the truth is that I am a foreigner in my own land.
