Love is one of the most powerful forces on earth. It’s no wonder that God calls us to love him and our neighbours.
Yet he went the extra mile to show us by example what love is, by offering up Himself as the perfect sacrifice.
He fulfilled the promise he made to Eve in the Garden of Eden.
The hymn perfectly sums it up:
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever:
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
The question now remains, what will you do with this love? The precious love of Christ the Savior of Mankind. You can refuse to accept it or you can choose to receive it.
Twenty-five years ago, I accepted His gift of love, and I have never regretted it despite the challenging times.
Opening up your heart to receive this love changes everything.
It has the power to transform men and women. This love makes those who were once afraid bold and courageous.
It leads men and women to give up all they are and have in the service of the one who gave all of himself for humanity.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.I John 4: 18 (NIV)
This is the kind of love I thirst for. The love that changes me from within and makes me a change agent that the world truly needs.
This Easter I am thankful for God’s love and I willingly accept to be a vessel of his love to others.
